What is real here and what is generated
This is a demonstration of software, not a report on a place. Species, scientific names, public lands, agencies, laws, and management practices may be real public context. Every operational record is generated: every position, treatment, visit, measurement, outcome, date, count, photograph reference, and crew code. Generated positions are placed on the real Santa Rita Experimental Range and are drawn at their generated precision on public basemaps; the basemap and the attributed context layers are the only real things on a map, and a position records no real survey, animal, plant, or treatment. Patterns in the figures are properties of the generator, not findings about a species, population, program, or place. The generator seed, version, as-of date, and dataset fingerprint are carried in the generated corpus and its build manifest.
Every real species and place named beside a public figure carries its public source note and verification date from the generated reference registry. Those citations describe public context only; operational records and geometry remain generated.
Using this demonstration
A printable guide explains every page of every workspace, how downloads and printing work, and what to do when a page misbehaves.

Every map draws generated records over real public geography. The ground and the context lines come from these sources; the marks do not.
- Basemap tiles
- U.S. Geological Survey, The National Map: the Topo and Imagery tile services, fetched by the browser with no account or key. The Light basemap is the same Topo tiles, lightened on screen.
- Range boundary
- The OSM footprint of the Santa Rita Experimental Range and Wildlife Area. A simplified public depiction, not a survey-grade or legal boundary. Shown when a map opens.
- Ranch roads
- Tracks and service roads mapped inside the range. Shown when a map opens.
- Washes
- Mapped stream and wash lines. Most flow only after rain. Off when a map opens; listed under the layers button.
- Designated trails
- Mapped foot trails inside the range. Off when a map opens; listed under the layers button.
